"Now I know how Kate Moss feels!"

Out and About

Pollok Country Park

If Calsberg made public parks, they would make Pollock. Beautiful, diverse parkland, with a gallery to surpass the Tate. And all on our doorstep

A golden evergreen. I saw beauty, Allen saw dead. We were both right.

The Burrell Collection

14th century spanish doorway. "Don't speak, you'll spoil it!"
Section of 16th century vaulted ceiling
Allen, trying to work out which pieces are from the Ming Dynasty
Many of the tapestries date back to the 1500s

The Burrell Collection has to be the best gallery we have ever visited. Free admission, plenty of seating, over 3000 exhibits from William Burrells private collection. He was and still is a man of the people.

17th century back grate. Inscribed CR, so probably Charles 1
Queen Elizabeth 11- the only queen likely to reign in our lifetime
13th century arcade arches and Allen, equally as decorative
2 centuries apart, yet still together! 15th century doorway, showing St Martha and the tarasque (a dragon) I've been called worse.
