The large resort village of Mellieha is in the northern region of Malta. While it is steeped in history and proud of its war effort during WW2 it has all the requirements of 21c living – a comprehensive public transport system, a supermarket, several eateries and bars and a beach. All within walking distance
WW11 Shelters
A short walk away are the shelters, considered to be mong the largest excavated in Malta. 2.5 euro admission fee
The shelters are a bit of a maze. A tangle of long corridors sprinkled with individual-rooms designated as maternity suites, chapel, sick bays and a mortuary. A recording of a baby crying adds to the atmosphere.

Spot my knight in shining armour!
La Cassiere Hall
Not sure we were allowed access to the theatre, but the door was open and the temptation too strong. We accesse d from the balcony and sneaked a look at the stage where rehearals were underway. So atmsospeheric
